In Tenderville, Oregon, Bill Williamson, a 23-year-old man, lives with his parents and works as a low-wage mechanic. Feeling bombarded with the world’s problems by ubiquitous television, radio, and the outspoken political opinions of 21-year-old Evan Drince, who appears to be his only friend. Bill’s parents asked him to move out. And Bill went to work. Stopped to buy coffee along the way. and argued with the store owner when he was dissatisfied with his coffee. At work, his boss interrupted him while Bill was working on his personal vehicle after hours. The boss then humbly declines Bill’s request for a raise.
