I didn’t know about the 2022 Mexican horror film “Mal De Ojo” (also known as “Evil Eye”) before I sat down to watch it. All I know about is horror movies. And that’s all I wished for it to be. Writers Jr. Rosario, Edgar San Juan and Isaac Ezban together created a rather entertaining screenplay. Although I was able to come up with a plot for about 40 minutes of the movie and it actually turned out exactly as I expected.
The plot and narrative in “Mal De Ojo” are good and lighthearted. It has a wonderfully written story and concept. And it gives me real entertainment, I’m not familiar with any of the stars in this movie. Because I don’t have any Mexican cinema experience. However, the actors and actresses in the film are well represented. Visually, “Mal De Ojo” is pretty good. I like the special effects in this film. My rating for director Isaac Ezban’s “Mal De Ojo” is 6 out of 10 stars.
